Ten Whys Of Artificial Grass Common Problems

Artificial grass is widely used in our daily life, whether it is sports or leisure and entertainment, but many people know little about artificial grass. This issue will answer ten common questions about artificial grass for you, and take you to understand the little knowledge of artificial grass.

⒈. Why don't all the lawns stick to the foundation?

Answer: ①No, because the artificial turf system is drained through the gap between the surface layer and the foundation. If it is bonded to the foundation, it will affect the drainage performance of the site.

②In the artificial turf system, the turf itself and the filled quartz sand and particles have a very large self-weight, and there will be no turf displacement during normal exercise.

⒉. Why aren't all functional threads woven on the lawn in the factory?

Answer: At present, the artificial grass production equipment commonly used in the industry can only perform tufting of vertical lines. Even if the functional lines are completely woven on the lawn in the factory, and when they are constructed on site, each functional line may not completely match the actual location of the site, and there is a great risk to the construction.

3. Why should the lawn be overlapped by 2 cm?

Answer: The main purpose is to ensure the overall beauty of the lawn. If no overlap is performed, there may be few grass threads in some joints, resulting in obvious joints and affecting the beauty of the site.

4. Why can't we use river sand instead of quartz sand?

Answer: Use quartz sand as much as possible. Because quartz sand contains high silicon content, its hardness is relatively harder than that of river sand. It is frequently rubbed during use, and it is not easy to form powder. At the same time, there are many small gaps in the granular quartz sand, which is conducive to the drainage of the site.

If it is difficult to purchase quartz sand on site, river sand can be used, but when using river sand, [note the following]:

1) Choose washed river sand, the mud content of river sand is less than 5%,

2) The size of sand grains is uniform, and the specification is controlled at about 40 meshes.

3) If conditions permit, it should be sieved to ensure that it does not contain impurities, such as small mussel shells.

5. Why is there so much quartz sand in the lawn?

Answer: The main function of quartz sand is to increase the sense of movement, ensure the uprightness of the grass, and stabilize the lawn.

If there is too little quartz sand, the grass will fall more. On the other hand, if there are too many, the grass will be exposed too little, which will affect the appearance and performance of the site.

6. Why are there certain requirements for the selection of quartz sand? ✍

Answer: Because if the quartz sand is too small, the site is easy to harden;

On the other hand, if it is too large, the quartz sand will not be easily injected into the grass, and the rubber particles on the surface will easily penetrate into the quartz sand.

7. Why does the rain wash away the rubber particles?

Answer: In the site where the construction has just been completed, the filler is not fully compacted, and a very small amount of the filler is lost in a short period of time.

After using for a period of time, after the athlete's trampling, the filling material is gradually compacted, and the exposed grass silk also effectively wraps the filling material, and there will be no leakage.

8. Why are there shedding grass threads on site?

Answer: The shedding grass silk on the construction site mainly comes from:

1) Grass filaments on the drainage holes: During the production process, the drainage holes are formed by processing with an electric soldering iron. During production, some grass roots will not fall off immediately after being ironed by an electric soldering iron.

2) During the construction process, some filaments of grass will be cut when cutting the functional line, but they will not fall off immediately. After being combed by the grass carder, the grass silk will fall off, causing the phenomenon of grass silk falling off on the site.

9. Why is the lawn wrinkled?

Answer: During the transportation of the lawn, due to the force and extrusion, certain folds will appear. Generally, the folds of the lawn during the paving process can be basically eliminated after drying in the sun. After the lawn is glued, it can be treated with a knife.

10. Why is the color of the newly opened lawn different from that of the previously opened lawn?

Answer: The main reason is that the newly opened lawn is basically completely lodging, and after the previously opened lawn has been left to dry, some grass filaments have been erected. Therefore, the front and rear lawns have different degrees of erection and reflect light. The difference will have a certain impact on the vision of the eyes, and the color of the lawn will be the same after the construction is completed.

After reading these 10 common problems with artificial grass, I hope it will help you.
